Bucharest: Ambassador Tomasević visited Iasi

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Bucharest Stefan Tomašević visited the city of Iasi, where he met with Prefect Petru Cojocaru, Vice President of the County Council Sorin Alfoari, Mayor of Iași Mihai Kirikou, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Iași District Paul Butnariu, Rector of the University „Aleksandru Ioan Kuza“ Tudorel Toader, as well as Metropolitan Theophanes.
They discussed improving cooperation in the fields of science, education, culture, sports, connecting districts and cities through joint projects, as well as exchanging visits and promoting economic, tourist and investment potentials.
The importance of Iasi as a place of pilgrimage for many Serbs who come to worship the relics of Saint Petka was highlighted.
During a tour of the Metropolitan Church where the relics of Saint Petka are located, Ambassador Stefan Tomašević met Serbian citizen Aleksandar Kikanović, who ran for more than a month from the starting point in Krupanj to Iasi as the final destination as part of a humanitarian action.
