Brussels: Ambassador Tasić with the President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Belgium
The President of the Senate conveyed her impressions after visiting Serbia in September of this year and talking with President of the National Assembly Vladimir Orlić.
The interlocutors discussed the current state of bilateral relations between Belgium and Serbia, with an emphasis on parliamentary cooperation. The good parliamentary relations between the two countries were confirmed and it was noted that there was room for their further improvement.
They discussed the process of European integration of Serbia and the challenges along the way. Ambassador Tasić expressed his expectations that Belgium would continue to support Serbia's efforts towards full membership in the European Union.
The meeting was a good opportunity for the Ambassador to inform the President of the Senate about the progress of the dialogue with the provisional institutions of self-government in Priština.
Special attention was paid to opportunities for strengthening economic and commercial cooperation, especially due to the fact that Serbia represents the engine of development of the entire region, and the Open Balkans initiative is an additional impulse for new foreign investments.
