The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Bratislava, Momčilo Babić, and the Mayor of the Old Town Municipality, Zuzana Aufrichtová, unveiled a memorial plaque in the center of Bratislava to the great Serbian philosopher, writer and reformer of the Serbian language, Vuk Stefanović Karadžić.
Ambassador Babić pointed out that friendship and fraternal ties with Slovakia have lasted for over six centuries, and that this is why connecting at all levels is an obligation of present and future generations.
Also, the ambassador expressed gratitude for the non-recognition of the false state "Kosovo" and for the consistent respect for international law.
On that occasion, the need for cooperation in the cultural, educational, health and environmental sectors of the two municipalities, the Old Town in Belgrade and the Old Town in Bratislava, was pointed out, for which mutual interest was stated.
This memorial plaque shows Slovak citizens and numerous tourists who Vuk Karadžić was and how strong the ties are that he built with the Slovaks.
