Berlin: The Evening of Serbian Culture at the Embassy
During the evening, a significant part of which was dedicated to the promotion of Novi Sad as the European Capital of Culture, guests from Germany, Finland, the United States, Israel, Poland, Kazakhstan, and other countries, had an opportunity to familiarise with the folklore, tourist offer and rich cultural heritage of Serbia.
In addressing the audience, Ambassador of Serbia to Germany Snežana Janković pointed out the long and rich history of bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany, emphasising that at the end of the year the two countries would be celebrating 140 years since the signing of the Trade and Consular Convention and the establishment of diplomatic relations. Ambassador Janković also pointed out that many famous people of Serbian culture, such as Dositej Obradović and Vuk Stefanović Karadžić, had acquired part of their education in Germany and cooperated with famous Germans such as Goethe, Schiller, the Brothers Grimm and others.
The guests of the Embassy had the opportunity to enjoy folk songs and dances performed exceptionally by members of KUD Zlatni opanak from Berlin.
During the evening, short films of the Tourist Organisation of Serbia were shown, as well as a promotional film of Novi Sad as the European Capital of Culture.
