Ambassador Jovanović laid a laurel wreath in honor of Serbian soldiers killed in the First World War
Ambassador Jovanović thanked the members of the Serbian people in Northern Macedonia for their presence, emphasizing the importance of gathering with the aim of honoring and paying tribute to our brave ancestors who died in the wars for the freedom of the homeland.
In the crypt of the Church of the Holy Archangel Michael, the remains of about three thousand Serbian soldiers who died on the hill of Gazi Baba during the First World War are preserved.
In addition to the representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, flowers and wreaths were also laid by Ivan Stojiljković, Member of Macedonian Parliament and Leader of the DPSM, Gordana Jović-Stojkovska on behalf of the Serbian Community in Macedonia, as well as Novica Milosavljević from the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia in Northern Macedonia.
