Political relations

Political relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay are traditionally good and friendly, with no open issues. Mutual efforts were made in the previous period to encourage cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.

The then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dačić, paid a bilateral visit to Uruguay in March 2019.

 

Economic relations

In 2020 the total trade amounted to 1.5 million euros, of which 718,000 were exports and 765,000 imports. In 2019, exports amounted to 1.2 million euros and imports to 1.45 million euros.

Trade Agreement/Uruguay, signed on 20 May 1955 (The Official Gazette No. 15/1956, Appendix No. 63/57 - Collection of Treaties);

Protocol on Political Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, signed on 14 May 2010,

Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay on the Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic, Service Passports and Passports for Public Affairs, signed on 28 September 2010 (The Official Gazette of the Republic of SerbiaInternational Treaties No. 12/10);

Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay on Visa Waiver for Their citizens, signed on 3 June 2011 (The Official Gazette of the Republic of SerbiaInternational Treaties No. 8/11).
