Political relations
Political relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay are traditionally good and friendly, with no open issues. Mutual efforts were made in the previous period to encourage cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
The then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dačić, paid a bilateral visit to Uruguay in March 2019.
Economic relations
In 2020 the total trade amounted to 1.5 million euros, of which 718,000 were exports and 765,000 imports. In 2019, exports amounted to 1.2 million euros and imports to 1.45 million euros.

Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay on Visa Waiver for Their citizens, signed on 3 June 2011 (The Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia – International Treaties No. 8/11).
