Political relations

The relations of Serbia and Turkmenistan are good and friendly, without any open issues. Both sides express interest in exchanging visits and more frequent meetings between officials of the two countries.

 

Economic relations

Economic cooperation is modest and based on trade in goods. In 2021 the total trade in goods amounted to approximately 15.172 million US dollars (12.672 million euros), with Serbian exports amounting to 6.194 million US dollars (5.097 million euros) and imports to 8.978 million US dollars (7.575 million euros). During 2020 trade in goods amounted to 6.06 million US dollars, with Serbia exporting goods to the amount of 90 thousand US dollars, while imports were at 5.97 million US dollars. During 2019 trade in goods amounted to only 457 thousand US dollars, with Serbia exporting goods to the amount of 400 thousand US dollars, while imports were at 57 thousand US dollars.

Serbia mainly exports military goods to Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan exports potassium chloride, urea-fertilizer, polypropylene in primary forms and toilet plastic products to our country. These four imported products account for 100% of total imports from Turkmenistan.

 

Bilateral agreements

There are no signed bilateral agreements between the Republic of Serbia and Turkmenistan, thus the formation of a contractual basis between the two states is a priority.
