Bilateral relations are traditionally good and friendly. The former First Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, visited the Federal Republic of Somalia on 21-22 May 2019.

In 2019, exports amounted to 1.087 million euros, while imports amounted to 1,000 euros.
