Political relations
Serbia and Indonesia have very good political relations, with no outstanding issues, and with a tendency of further improvement.
The last visit at the highest level occurred in 2016, when the then President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolić, visited Indonesia, which was the first visit to Indonesia at the highest level after six decades.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia at the time Nikola Selaković paid an official visit to the Republic of Indonesia on 23-24. May 2022, when he met with President Joko Widodo and Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Ms. Retno Marsudi, as a special envoy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, attended the High level Commemorative meeting of the Non-Aligned movement, held in Belgrade 10-11. october 2021, оn the occassion of the First conference of the NAM. During the visit, Ms. R. Marsudi has been received by the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Nikola Selaković.
In 2013, Indonesia and Serbia exchanged visits of then parliamentary leaders of the two countries — the Speaker of the People's Representative Council, Marzuki Alie, visited Serbia (from 4 to 8 June 2013), while the former Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, Nebojša Stefanović, was in an official visit to Indonesia from 17 to 20 March 2013.
Economic relations
The value of the bilateral trade between Serbia and Indonesia in 2022 amounted to 113 million USD (of which 3,12 million USD was the value of Serbia`s export).
Indonesian companies have so far had two investments in Serbia – into the noodle factory in Inđija (11 million euros, 200 job positions) and the mushroom production and processing plant (approximately 9.5 million euros, 120 employees).

- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income (signed on 28 February 2011; The Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia – MoU No. 4/11);
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on cooperation in the field of defence (signed on 15 September 2011; The Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia - MoU No. 6/12);
- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports (signed on 27 April 2016; The Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia - MoU No. 4/17 of 30 May 2017);
- Program of Cooperation in the field of Education between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Repiblic of Serbia and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (signed on 27 April 2016).
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia on political consultations (signed on May 23, 2022)
