Political relations

On 4 May 2017 the Government of the Republic of Serbia established 25 May as the Day of Friendship with the Peoples of Africa.

There is mutual willingness to improve political and economic cooperation.

The President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso Alassane Bala Sakandé took part in the 141st IPU conference organised in Belgrade in October 2019.

The Director for special Organisations of the MFA of Burkina Faso K. R. A. Bogore and MFA Advisor K. Udrago took part in the MC of the Non-Aligned Movement in September 2011 in Belgrade (meeting with DP MFA).

PM A. Brnabić met the PM of Burkina Faso A. Dabiré on the side-lines of the 108th session of the International Labour Conference, on 11 June 2019.

Economic relations

In 2020, exports amounted to 5,374,000 euros, while imports amounted to 12,000 euros. During 2019 exports to Burkina Faso amounted to 8,288,000 euros, while imports amounted to 22,200 euros.
