Political relations
The political relations are good and on the rise.
The Special Envoy of the King of Bahrain - his son, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with numerous members of the delegation, attended the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, held on 23 June 2017.
The President of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain (house of commons of the Parliament), Mrs. Fawzia Zainal, took part in the 141st IPU Assembly, held in Belgrade on 13-17 October 2019.
The former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić conducted the first official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain on 18 November 2019, at the invitation of the then Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Economic relations
Trade between the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Bahrain is modest in scope. In 2020, the total value of trade amounted to 35.588.000 euros, of which exports of the Republic of Serbia were 1.190.000 euros, and imports 34.398.000 euros. During 2019 the foreign trade exchange amounted to 21,282,000 euros, with Serbian exports representing 1,208,000 euros, and import 20,074,000 euros. This year marked a sharp increase in Serbian imports from the Kingdom of Bahrain, due to the import of raw aluminium.
Bilateral agreements
Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
