ENTRY AND EXIT FROM THE COUNTRY
The main international airport in the country is located in Majuro, the capital city of the same name.
When traveling to the Marshall Islands, your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.

Since Serbia is not yet on the list of countries whose citizens can obtain a visa on arrival for short stays, Serbian nationals must contact the Immigration Service of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in advance when planning their trip. Contact information can be found at: https://rmiimmigration.org.

Before traveling, check whether you need a transit visa for any country or territory through which you are transiting.

All foreign nationals are required to complete a customs declaration upon entry. Any amount equal to or exceeding USD 10,000 must be declared to the competent customs authorities upon both entry and exit. Upon departure, passengers between the ages of 13 and 59 must pay an airport departure fee of USD 20.

USEFUL INFORMATION:

HEALTH SITUATION – Current health-related information is available on the World Health Organization’s website.

The overall health situation is relatively satisfactory, although dengue fever occurs seasonally. Healthcare on the Marshall Islands is relatively adequate for routine cases but is limited in quality and availability. Tap water is generally not safe to drink; bottled water is recommended.

In case of emergency, call 625-8666 or 625-2333.

SECURITY SITUATION – The Marshall Islands enjoy a relatively high level of safety. With low crime rates and a stable political environment, the country is generally safe for living and traveling. Nevertheless, personal safety and safeguarding valuables should be observed. The Marshall Islands were a testing site for U.S. nuclear explosions during the 1940s and 1950s. Although many parts of the islands have been rehabilitated, long-term contamination effects may still pose some risks.

Monsoons and cyclones are most common from June to November. It is advised to monitor local weather forecasts and follow hotel staff guidance.

In case of emergency, dial 911.

TRANSPORTATION – The only public transportation available in the Marshall Islands consists of taxi services, which may be shared with other passengers. Road infrastructure is underdeveloped (there is only one paved road on the main island), and pedestrians should exercise caution due to the lack of sidewalks.

OTHER INFORMATION – The official currency of the Republic of the Marshall Islands is the U.S. dollar (USD). Payment in foreign currencies is not accepted. Payment cards are generally accepted.
