ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Starting from January 20, 2023, Malaysia introduced eVisa, i.e. electronic visa application.
Citizens of the Republic of Serbia applying for a Malaysian eVisa for the first time should register at: https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/evisa/vlno_register.jsp?type=register and follow further instructions when filling in the required fields. Those who already have registered accounts, can access via https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/evisa/evisa.jsp .
Below are the documents that need to be scanned and uploaded with your application.
- Passport sized studio photo;
- Passport biodata page with validity of at least more than 6 months from travel date;
- Confirmed returned ticket if applicable;
- Birth certificate for minor applicants;
- Proof of paid accommodation;
- Other supporting documents;
- Letter of Invitation from a local entity (applicable for those who apply Multiple Entry Visa (MEV)).
Payment of consular and other fees is also done electronically (using cards).
Note that eVISA can be applied around the world EXCEPT Malaysia, Singapore, Israel and North Korea.
You are required to printout your eVISA, which will be sent in an A4 printout format via email. Kindly be reminded that your eVISA printout is crucial and must be presented upon your arrival at Malaysia entry checkpoints.
The following documents are required to be presented upon arrival in Malaysia entry check-points:
- Valid passport / travel document;
- Valid eVISA printout (eVISA Note);
- Boarding pass/ticket/arrival pass if applicable;
- Sufficient funds (Cash / Traveler’s Cheque / Debit or Credit Cards / e-Wallets recognized by Malaysian Government) to cover your expenses during your stay in Malaysia;
- Confirmed returned ticket if applicable;
- Proof of paid accommodation; and
- Other supporting documents
Bearing in mind that a significant number of Serbian citizens is transiting through the airport in Kuala Lumpur, we draw attention to the following:
- You cannot apply for eVisa in Malaysia, Singapore, Israel and North Korea
- All passengers when planning their trip, before buying tickets, should check whether they are leaving the transit zone of the airport. In such case, a Malaysian visa is required and the trip will not be able to continue, since applying for an eVisa is not possible from within Malaysia.
On following link, you can find more information about eVisa: https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/evisa/evisa.jsp .
Furthermore, starting from December 1, 2023, Malaysia introduced the obligation of electronic registration of all travelers coming to Malaysia. Registration must be done three days before the planned arrival in Malaysia via the following link: https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main?registerMain
