ENTRY REGIME FOR CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Citizens of the Republic of Serbia may enter the country, with a negative test result, not older than 48 hours.
ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Holders of a Serbian passport require a visa, obtained in diplomatic-consular representative offices of Guinea abroad. A visa cannot be obtained at the border crossing. The period of validity of the passport for purposes of tourism must be 6 months, while for regulating residence it must be 6 months as of the date of the visa application.
Cash money may be brought into the country, with the obligation of declaring it.
Up to 1 litre of alcoholic beverages and 4 boxes of cigarettes may be imported. Animals may be imported with a certificate on rabies vaccination and a veterinary certificate on the health status.
SOCIAL SECURITY AGREEMENT
No social security agreement has been signed.
USEFUL INFORMATION
HEALTH SITUATION – A vaccine against yellow fever is required, along with preventive measures against malaria and Ebola (Ebola epidemics have been registered several times in Guinea recently). Vaccination against cholera is also recommended. Current information on the health situation in Guinea can be found on the World Health Organization website.
SECURITY SITUATION – Security in the country as a whole, including the capital of Conakry, is not particularly high. The number of attacks by armed persons and groups against foreign nationals and their property is on the rise. It is necessary to avoid night-time movement outside the capital. Travelling outside the capital requires thorough preparations. Due to the state of roads it is recommended to travel by all-terrain vehicles.
TRANSPORT – The international airport is located in Conakry. A national driver’s licence is tolerated for driving a motor vehicle during a shorter stay, longer stays require an international permit. Taxis are used for movement around cities. They are not expensive.
OTHER – The official currency is the Guinea franc (GNF). Money can be exchanged in banks and exchange offices.
The tropical climate has two seasons - a rainy season from May to September, and a dry season from December to April. There are four climate regions in Guinea, the western on the Atlantic coast with a wet climate, a more moderate climate in the central part of the country, a tropical climate with less precipitation and higher temperatures in the north-east, except during the windy period from December to February. The south-east of Guinea is sub-equatorial, with a long rainy period (8 to 10 months), and average temperatures of 24C to 28C.
Modest wardrobe that does not catch the eye is recommended.
