HEALTH SITUATION – Current information on the health situation in this country can be found on the World Health Organization website https://www.who.int/countries/grd/.
Medical care in Grenada is satisfactory, but expensive for tourists, particularly if hospitalisation is required, since payment is required on the spot, in cash. Emergency medical assistance is available, but the waiting times are long. Travel insurance is necessary. There are several health risks: Zika virus, Lyme disease, diarrhoea, dengue fever.
SECURITY SITUATION – Grenada does not have a high crime rate. It is, however, necessary to exercise the usual caution, since break-ins happen, both in houses and apartments, as well as cars. More serious crimes do occur, but with the usual precautionary measures there is no great danger for tourists.
TRANSPORT – Public transport is by minibus and taxi, as well as private boats between the islands.
Citizens of the Republic of Serbia need to obtain a local, temporary driver’s licence along with their Serbian licence. It is issued on request, based on a foreign driver’s licence. Driving is on the left side of the road.
