HEALTH SITUATION — Current information on the health situation in this country can be found on the website of the World Health Organization https://www.who.int/countries/dma/.
Medical institutions do not adhere to a high standard. Emergency assistance is not widely available. Medical expenses are mostly paid on the spot, in cash. Travelers should be aware of the following health risks: Zika virus, dengue fever, chikungunya fever.

SECURITY SITUATION — The country is still recovering from the devastating hurricane of 2017, parts of the country still do not have electricity or access to hot water. Tourists are mostly the target of petty crimes, and it is recommended to avoid movement alone, particularly in poorly lit areas of the city, beaches, etc. There are occasional instances of more serious crimes.

TRANSPORT — Roads in the country are generally in a very poor state. Public transport is based on minibuses and taxi transport. Traffic laws are poorly regulated. The country can be entered by boat or airplane.
In order to drive in the country, citizens of the Republic of Serbia need to hold a national (Serbian) driver’s licence as well as to obtain a local, temporary driver’s licence. The local temporary licence is issued on request, based on a foreign driver’s licence. Driving is on the left side of the road.
