ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
To enter the Republic of Cuba, it is necessary to have a valid passport which does not expire in less than 6 months from the date of entry into this country, and a return air ticket.

USEFUL INFORMATION
HEALTH SITUATION — Vaccination is not required for travel to Cuba. Most hotels have a 24-hour medical service, specialist doctors, and nurses. In larger cities, there are specialist clinics for tourists. Foreign visitor should only drink bottled water or use water purification tablets, in order to avoid any possibility of tropical diseases. It is recommended to carry first aid kits, personal medications, antibiotics, anti-diarrhoea medications, mosquito spray, similar to traveling to other tropical countries. SECURITY SITUATION — The Republic of Cuba is a safe country, with a low crime rate. However, as in other tourist destinations, it is necessary to be careful with pickpockets and petty scams, not to leave personal items in public places.
TRANSPORT — During a tourist stay in the country, it is possible to drive a motor vehicle with a Serbian driver's licence. Renting a car requires a valid passport, a driver's licence, and that the driver is at least 21 years of age. Taxi prices (state, private, collective, line) are affordable.
OTHER INFORMATION — The period when a hurricane may hit Cuba is from June to October (usually September−October). The public is informed regularly and promptly about the movement of air currents. In case of a hurricane, all hotels in Cuba are safe.
The official currency in Cuba is the Cuban peso (peso cubano (CUP)). Money is exchanged exclusively at exchange offices called CADECA, which are many. The exchange rate is fixed (24.00 peso = 1.00 US dollar). Never change money on the street.
Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Eurocard and the like) are in use and a 10% tax applies to them. Cards issued in the United States or its affiliates are not accepted.
It is recommended to carry a photocopy the first page of the passport, and to leave the original passport (travel document) and jewellery in the room. Travellers should also not carry large amounts of money with/on them.
All mobile phone networks from the Republic of Serbia (GSM and DAMP standard) are available in Cuba. Temporary national mobile telephone numbers, with the option of Internet data top-up, are available and at affordable prices.
