ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Visa is required to enter the country. For visas and other information, it is necessary to contact the Embassy of the Republic of the Congo in Rome, Italy. Citizens of the Republic of Serbia travelling to the Republic of the Congo must have the yellow card as proof of vaccination against yellow fever.

HEALTH SITUATION — Before travelling to the Republic of the Congo, travellers should check the current health situation on the website of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Regional Office for Africa (www.afro.who.int/health-topics).
The sanitary and epidemiological situation in the Republic of the Congo is unstable and it greatly fluctuates depending on the season. There is a high risk of getting viral, parasitic, infectious or acute intestinal diseases. Malaria, typhoid fever, and hepatitis A are widespread. The quality of medical care is not satisfactory. For qualified medical care, travellers should go to private clinics.
Citizens of the Republic of Serbia travelling to the Republic of Congo must have the yellow card as proof of vaccination against yellow fever (vaccinations are performed at the Institute for Tropical Diseases in Belgrade). Vaccination against all forms of hepatitis, tetanus, and polio, is advisable.
It is also advisable to practice good hygiene regularly, to wash hands, to avoid eating food which has not been thermally processed, and to drink bottled water only.
SECURITY SITUATION — Full caution and vigilance are advised. In order to reduce the threat to personal safety, it is necessary to take preventive measures, in particular to walk in groups, to leave valuables and personal documents in the hotel safe, and not to carry large sums of money. When going around the city, one should always carry a photocopy of the passport, a photocopy of the visa, and hotel and police telephone numbers.
