ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
The visitors can enter Angola either through the 4th of February International Airport in Luanda or by land from one of the neighboring countries. Visa applications can be submitted at the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Belgrade or through the website http://www.smevisa.gov.ao/. Starting from October 26, 2023, possession of a yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow card) is not mandatory. The passport must have validity of more than 6 months.

USEFUL INFORMATION
HEALTH SITUATION — As malaria is present, it is necessary to bring a tropical (not ordinary) mosquito bite repellent and reapply it frequently during the day. Wearing light coloured clothing that covers the body (long pants, long shirts, long sleeves) is recommended. It is only safe to eat food in hotels or better restaurants, and to drink bottled water. Due to very expensive healthcare services, travellers are advised to have travel health insurance.
SECURITY SITUATION — The crime rate is high, especially robberies and thefts. Armed robberies and thefts occur mainly in Luanda, but also in other cities in the country, at any time of the day or night, even in a lively environment, such as shopping malls, restaurants, hotels and the surroundings. In Luanda in particular, there are attacks on vehicles during traffic jams. Regardless of the time of day, these attacks are mostly carried out by armed perpetrators on scooters. Foreigners are the preferred targets of theft and robbery. The perpetrators are not only targeting money, but also credit cards and mobile phones.
TRANSPORT — Public city traffic is almost non-existent. There are mostly vans, used exclusively by the local population. Taxi transportation is developed and reliable, and may be ordered by calling the taxi service or by SMS. During a tourist stay in Angola, one may only drive a motor vehicle with an international driving permit.
OTHER INFORMATION — The official currency of Angola is the Kwanza (AOA). Euro and US dollar are the two most frequently exchanged foreign currencies. It is safest to exchange foreign currency at a hotel or authorised exchange offices. Foreign payment cards are accepted in hotels, better restaurants, hypermarkets, and exclusive shops and boutiques.
