In today's conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Djuric and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Mihai Popșoi, the historically good bilateral relations between the two countries, based on mutual respect and common values, were affirmed.

Minister Djuric noted that our country highly valued the consistency of the Moldovan position on the territorial integrity of Serbia in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.

Furthermore, he expressed his belief that the period ahead would see a significant intensification of the dynamics of high- and top-level meetings, in the spirit of traditional friendship between the two peoples.

Economic cooperation, according to Djuric, was an area with room for additional enhancement, which would undoubtedly benefit the citizens of both countries.

The topics discussed included the foreign policy orientation of the two countries towards joining the European family, and in this context mutual support on the European path was expressed.

Welcoming the decision of the European Union to open accession negotiations with Moldova in December last year, the head of Serbian diplomacy underlined Serbia's readiness to share with the Moldovan side its experiences gained so far in the European integration process.
