Đurić confers with member of the German Bundestag Peter Beyer

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with a member of the German Bundestag from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Peter Beyer, to discuss bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany, as well as Serbia’s path toward European integration.

Minister Đurić emphasized that Germany is Serbia’s leading foreign trade partner and expressed satisfaction with the continued upward trend in key areas of economic cooperation, particularly with regard to German investments in Serbia.

He reiterated that Serbia remains firmly committed to its European path, stressing that full membership in the European Union and the advancement of reforms in key sectors are strategic priorities for the country.

Minister Đurić also highlighted Serbia’s active role in promoting regional cooperation, particularly through regional initiatives that contribute concretely to building trust, stability, and improving the living conditions of citizens across the Western Balkans.

The meeting also addressed issues of energy security and the green transition, with both sides underscoring the importance of cooperation in the field of renewable energy and sustainable development.

Transatlantic relations were discussed as well, with special attention given to their role and significance within the broader European context.

The Minister expressed Serbia’s appreciation for Germany’s confirmation of its participation in the Specialized Expo 2027, which will represent one of the key international events in the region.

Finally, Minister Đurić extended congratulations to the newly elected German government and underlined the importance of continuing to strengthen and deepen bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany.
