23. Jan 2025.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, spoke today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Serbia Andreas Fotiou.

Kozarev stressed that Serbia attaches great importance to relations with the Republic of Cyprus, which, as he emphasized, are based on strong friendship, historically confirmed closeness and solidarity of the two peoples.

He particularly thanked the Republic of Cyprus for its continuous and unequivocal support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, that is for its consistent and principled position on non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.

At today's meeting, the interlocutors agreed to monitor the implementation of the activities agreed upon during the meeting of the two ministers.

The Secretary General also highlighted the potential for cooperation regarding the co-location of diplomatic-consular missions of the two countries. In this context, the Secretary General Kozarev noted that they would assess the available capacities in the existing missions.

Talk also covered the strengthening of ties in the areas of culture, tourism, education, and sports, and the Secretary General expressed satisfaction that the Republic of Cyprus would be the guest of honor at this year's International Book Fair in Belgrade.
