At the meeting, Đurić conveyed greetings from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to President Aliyev, noting that the friendship fostered by the two presidents without a doubt added strength to the strategic partnership between Serbia and Azerbaijan.

Minister Đurić expressed gratitude for the firm and unequivocal position of Azerbaijan concerning non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, noting that the relations between our two countries were characterized by traditional friendship, mutual respect, understanding and support.

"We highly value your support to the efforts being made by the Republic of Serbia to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and in this regard, I wish to emphasize the full support of the Republic of Serbia for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan," Đurić stated.

According to him, Serbia will continue to diligently work on protecting its state and national interests, as well as preserving peace and stability in the region and advancing economic ties and progress in the Western Balkans.

Reflecting on current geopolitical events, the head of Serbian diplomacy pointed out that the partnership and friendship between Serbia and Azerbaijan were particularly important in view of the turbulent developments in the global arena.

In the talks, it was noted that there was significant room for the enhancement of economic cooperation, which had a great potential to match the existing high level of political relations and friendly ties, as well as for a continued development of cooperation in all areas of common interest.
