Minister Đurić confers with Ireland’s Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met with Ireland’s Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Michael Moynihan, who is visiting Belgrade on the occasion of Ireland’s National Day, St. Patrick’s Day.

The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere and provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on further steps to enhance bilateral cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on the recent opening of the Embassy of Ireland in Belgrade, which provides renewed impetus for intensifying political dialogue and overall relations between the two countries.

Minister Đurić underscored that Serbia attaches great importance to cooperation with Ireland as a partner within the framework of European integration and expressed the expectation that Ireland’s forthcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of the year will contribute to further progress in Serbia’s European path.

The discussion also focused on opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation, with particular emphasis on developing partnerships in the field of information technology. The interlocutors noted the significant potential for closer links between the Serbian and Irish IT sectors, given the dynamic growth and innovative capacities of both countries, as well as the increasing interest of Irish companies in investing in Serbia.
