First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić met with Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of UNMIK
The topic of the discussions was the importance of continuing engagement of UNMIK mission on all matters relevant for consistent implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and on the current security and political situation in Kosovo and Metohija, especially in the context of the latest incidents that additionally increased the tensions. The discussions also focused on the perspective of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić pointed out that Serbia was dedicated to conducting a dialogue as the only way of resolving the actual problems, but that it was vital to obey what had been agreed. To that effect, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić stressed that there was still no progress in the performance of obligations that the other party undertook, primarily with regard to the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities, although ten years had passed since the signing of the Brussels Agreement.
Caroline Ziadeh thanked for the Serbian support to the work of UNMIK Mission and especially praised the constructive role of Belgrade in the dialogue with Priština.
The interlocutors expressed their expectation that good cooperation would continue in the future.
