Đurić confers with Congressman Keating

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met in Washington with Congressman William Keating, Co-Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Europe.

The interlocutors discussed the prospects of Serbian–American relations, political dialogue, economic cooperation, and opportunities for further advancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest. In this context, Minister Đurić emphasized the importance of the Strategic Dialogue, whose launch Serbia has initiated.

Minister Đurić also spoke with the Congressman about the role of the Serbian diaspora as a bridge between the two nations, contributing to better mutual understanding.

The Serbian Foreign Minister briefed Congressman Keating on the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, with particular emphasis on the extremely difficult circumstances faced by the Serbian people there.

The discussion also touched upon the energy situation in Serbia following the entry into force of sanctions against the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS).

Both sides agreed on the importance of such meetings and constructive exchanges, which help foster a better understanding of issues of shared interest.
