Consistent support from Morocco for the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country
Kozarev thanked Morocco for its consistent support in preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, emphasizing that both sides uphold the principles of international law on the most important national issues.
According to the Secretary General, Serbia has faced numerous internal challenges in recent months, including attempts to politicize the tragedy in Novi Sad and to incite a color revolution, as well as ongoing issues concerning Kosovo and Metohija, where the Serbian population is exposed daily to intimidation and arrests resulting from unilateral actions by the Pristina authorities and the failure to honor existing agreements. In briefing his interlocutor on these matters, Kozarev emphasized that Serbia remains committed to dialogue with all parties as the only means of overcoming these challenges.
On regional matters, Kozarev informed the ambassador about current developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, underscoring that Serbia’s efforts and aspirations remain focused on peace and stability in the region, aimed at its progress and development.
Ambassador Belhaj, in discussing key national priorities, particularly highlighted the potential for cooperation in major global events and exhibitions that will be hosted by Serbia and Morocco in the near future. He noted that the organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup—which will entail large-scale infrastructure projects, including the construction of the world’s largest football stadium—presents opportunities for Serbian companies to contribute in that domain.
In this context, the Moroccan Ambassador commended Serbia’s initiatives in preparing for and organizing World Expo 2027, adding that it represents a significant opportunity for Serbia to showcase itself on the global stage.
According to him, Serbia is seen as a gateway to the Western Balkans, just as Morocco can serve as a gateway to the African continent in the development of bilateral cooperation.
Particular emphasis during today’s meeting was placed on the importance of intensifying the work of the Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation and the Business Forum, with the aim of defining concrete opportunities for collaboration and connecting the business communities of both countries.
