Note: Holders of an emergency travel document in transit require a visa unless they leave the international airport zone
ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Visas are required, including for holders of an emergency travel document who are in transit.
Holders of ordinary passports of the Republic of Serbia entering the Republic of South Africa through O.R. Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport, Lanseria International Airport, or King Shaka International Airport may apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa/ETA) via the following website: https://eta.dha.gov.za/ . Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of the intended entry. This system does not apply to holders of emergency travel documents who are in transit, or to work visas.
Upon arrival in or departure from the Republic of South Africa, travellers must complete a form containing details of their travel arrangements no earlier than 24 hours before their flight or intended journey.
The form must be completed electronically via the South African Revenue Service (SARS) website: https://tools.sars.gov.za/sarsonlinequery/traveller . Once the form has been completed, a notification will be sent to the traveller’s mobile phone or email address. This notification must be printed out and presented to the relevant authorities at the airport or border crossing, together with the passport and visa.
SOCIAL SECURITY AGREEMENT
No social security agreement has been concluded.
USEFUL INFORMATION
TRANSPORT — In order to drive a motor vehicle, in addition to the national driver's licence, it is necessary to have an international driver's licence, that means an official translation of the same into English made in the diplomatic-consular mission of the Republic of Serbia in South Africa. The general precondition is that the national or international driver's licence has been issued before the date of the temporary or permanent residence permit.
OTHER INFORMATION — The electricity is 220V/50. Suitable adapter can be bought in almost every supermarket. The official language is English.
