ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Citizens of the Republic of Serbia may enter the Republic of Azerbaijan only by air, since the land borders are closed. Entry into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan without going through its established state border check-points constitutes a violation of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and thus, entails criminal, administrative and other liability under the national legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Foreigners staying in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days must register their stay with the State Migration Service no later than five days from the date of crossing the border. Registration of residence is done in person (according to the place of residence) or via e-mail at qeydiyyat@migration.gov.az. It is necessary to submit an official form that can be form at the following link: https://migration.gov.az/en/oyq and a copy of passport. There is no registration fee. For persons staying at a hotel, the registration of stay is done by the hotel administration. All changes in a foreigner’s place of residence in Azerbaijan must be registered, in accordance with the above procedure.
Goods for personal use worth up to 1,500 US dollars, personal belongings, 125 grams of fish eggs, 1,5 liters of alcohol and 600gr of cigarettes may be brought into/out of Azerbaijan without paying customs duties. Residents and non-residents may take 10,000 US dollars out of Azerbaijan, without showing proof of origin.
Special permits are required for plants, live animals and raw materials of animal origin. The ban, without exception, applies to weapons and ammunition, illicit substances, poisons, narcotics, harmful substances, as well as materials that promote immorality, violence and terrorism.

USEFUL INFORMATION
HEALTH SITUATION — Azerbaijan has a stable health situation. No special vaccination is required when entering the country. Current information on the health situation can be found on the World Health Organization website www.who.int.
SECURITY SITUATION - The security situation in the country is stable. Foreign citizens must not plan their visits to the territories subject to a special travel regime without prior consent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
TRANSPORT — Heydar Aliyev Airport is the busiest airport, while other airports are smaller and connected to Baku and Moscow by several lines. The largest number of direct flights is to Istanbul. Due to the closed border with Armenia, there is no road traffic at the land border crossings in that part. Roads are below the usual technical standards, but there are better three- and four-lane roads approaching big cities.
The national driver's license of the Republic of Serbia, if not expired, is valid on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In the case of a regulated stay in Azerbaijan, the national driver's license is exchanged for an Azerbaijani one. For the exchange, it is necessary to enclose the national driver’s license with a notarised translation of the same into the Azerbaijani language, a medical certificate and proof of fee payment.
During a tourist stay in Azerbaijan, operating a motor vehicle is only possible with a valid national driver's license and a valid international driving permit. For travel by vehicle from the Republic of Serbia, green card insurance is mandatory.
OTHER INFORMATION — The official currency of Azerbaijan is the Manat (AZN). Some hotels and points of sale accept payment cards, but cash payments are more common.
Climatic conditions are not unique on the territory of the country. Of the existing 11 climate zones, Azerbaijan has 9. The climate varies from continental, dry and humid (in the extreme south), to subtropical in the southeast parts of the country.
